Default Need help w/ windows xp setup

I was considering reinstalling windows xp prof. becuase of a problem i was having so i put in the windows disc and it copyed a few files to my hd. But then before i restarted i fixed the problem i was having so now whenever i start up windows it askes it i want to boot windows xp prof. or windows xp prof. setup. How do i get rid of this promt asking me if i want to do the setup. Any help appreciated. thanks!

Hi there and welcome to PCHF

from JSI FAQ:

01. Open a CMD.exe prompt.
02. Type attrib -r -s -h c:\boot.ini and press Enter.
03. Type notepad c:\boot.ini and press Enter.
04. Remove any line under the [operating systems] section that contains the word Setup.
05. Press Save on the File menu.
06. Press Exit on the File menu.
07. Type attrib +r +s +h c:\boot.ini and press Enter.
08. Close the CMD.EXE window.
09. Right-click My Computer and press Properties.
10. Select the Advanced tab.
11. Under Startup and Recovery, press the Settings button.
12. Use the drop-down box to select the Default operating system.
13. Set the time to display list of operating systems to a number of your choice. 14. Press OK and OK.
** A command.exe prompt is Start > Run > type cmd and press enter.
