Default [Fixed] Event Viewer ERROR does not function. FILE EARASED HELP!!

Hello, recently I received a BSOD sayiong something about my memory meaning ram. I have newsly added 1GB Ram by the way. Anyways so I reset and when windows loaded I went to event viewer as usual to check the error and when I click on "system" it gives a error saying "The event log file is corrupt" And then there will be a red small X on the system. So now I cant check any events under the system section in event viwer...I tried refreshing too and nothing happened. How do I fix it??? Please help me!
Thanks!
P.S. If my mother board supports PC 2100 and I am using rams that are PC 3200 and they are working fine would it cause a problem? And also I touch my rams and they are BURNING HOT is that normal or do I need extra fans or ram coolers?

Thanksss

Hey Ali.

Ok, don't worry, try this first;
  1. Open the Event Viewer.
  2. Rightclick on the corrupt log in the left pane and click Properties.
  3. Click the Clear button in the Properties dialog box.
