Exclamation Kernel_data_inpage_error

OK i got the BSoD today on my other computer after trying to install a free trial of a program. It installed, but when i tried to start it up, it took a while and the BSoD popped up! I feel stupid because i didnt write down the details... But when i try to start up my computer it tells me that my C:\Windows\System32\Config\System file is currupt. It also tells me to put im my xp cd and press "r" to repair it, but i dont know what to do after i press "r"!?!?! If worse comes to worst then i have most of my needed files on a disk from the last time my computer crashed... Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have another keyboard you could use? It sounds as if one of the keys doesnt want to respond when pressed.

i seriously doubt thats it, pressing r isnt a choice (it isnt that i cant press r)...because in another guide like that one it acknowleged that when you get to that screen and pressing r isnt a choice, that something is wrong...
