Hi Upgrader,

What happens when you try listening to music on your pc, using your headphones? If that's ok, have you used the MSN Messenger audio and video setup (in file > tools)? Make sure the box saying 'click here if you are using headphones' is checked, and play with the volume level there.

Hey Guys,

@Techs, Upgrader has been having sound problems for a while, this thread may help, http://www.pchelpforum.com/windows-x...kly-sound.html.

@Upgrader, did you get the new sound card as we discussed in the above thread? If not, this may be an extension of the soundcard issue from before.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

I agree with LGW... I worked on the other thread as well. IMHO the only thing that will solve this is a new sound card. The issues described in the other thread sound to me like a definite hardware issue. I also linked to a couple of VERY inexpensive PCI cards to solve the issue... software /tweaks will never fix defective gear. The only other thing that MIGHT cause this type of problem is the mobo itself-- but for the price of a cheap PCI card --it'd STILL be worth it to try.
