Default [Resolved] Can't Boot from XP CD

Hey guys.
After finding out our windows copy wasnt authentic... dad thought htis caused a few problems with the computer and not being able to get full advantage of microsoft "Support".
He went out and bought a copy of Home Edition. I don't even know if this is going to work. Ive backed up all my files and stuff.
I need to format the HD and start fresh really. But i can't boot from the CD.

It says Boot from CD or something, then after a few seconds it just comes up woth FAILURE...
Thanks for Any replies
Matt

Hi Matt, have you set the CD ROM to boot first in the BIOS? When your computer starts up, press either Del or F2

Thanks for you reply
Yes, i have set the computer to boot from CD. I have two DVD drives and have tried it in both. And i have also checked that they are installed like Windows suggested.
Cheers
Matt

Ive just spoken to my dad. When he bought it he said there were two version of XP Home Edition... One was ?100+ he got the ?80 one. He asked the man in the shop and explained that it was going to me formatted and perform a clean install. Is it to do with the disc he got?
Cheers
Matt
