Default [Fixed] Messed up Picture's Folder

I hope someone can help me on this. I got film developed at Wal-Mart.Ordered the CD with the prints.Had to install software from CD to do anything with the picture's(other than view them). This software sucks by the way-but thats a different thread.OK,so get the picture's on my computer and thought all is well. Then I see that some of my older file's now have a thumbnail of the new picture's on them. When I open a file the correct picture comes up.This happened on about 30 files.Maybe more. The file name is correct, the picture is correct for the name, but the wrong thumbnail on it.I uninstalled the software.I ran CCleaner,Spybot S&D,Ad-aware and AVG.Didn't help.I did a system restore to two different points.Didn't fix it. The picture's come up correctly in Picasa 2.So does anyone have any idea's? Thanks for any help. Allen

Hi banjoallen...this is an interesting issue.

Just want to clarify a bit...

You go into the folder where the pictures are stored, and the thumbnails are showing the incorrect picture?

Yes,that is correct. Not all the thumbnails, about 30 of them.I also should have said that the new pictures have their own files that are correct. So new pictures have correct files and are also overlaid on incorrect files.

OK Allen, I've never actually seen this issue before, but I personally don't use thumbnails for files on my computer...however, I do believe that the reason this is happening is because the thumbnails are caching, and getting confused.

If you can My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> View

and then put a Check next to Do not cache thumbnails

Close all folders that are open, and browse to the files again.

ok. I think I fixed the problem.I deleted the thumbs.db file that was in the folder and closed the window and opened up again and it's all fixed. thumbs.db replaces itself.
