Hi Shane,

Welcome to PC Help Forum!! We have a great team here, who will no doubt be able to assist you.

The next time you boot up, can you enter the BIOS (Tap DEL on boot). This is assuming your keyboard works during startup, if not you may have to plug your PS2 back in for this. When in the BIOS, look for something relating to USB devices on boot, or PnP on boot. If these aren't selected, then your Pnp devices won't respond until they are plugged in again (as you have had to do).

Select those mate, and let us know if it helps.

Hi Shane,

Do you have any other USB devices plugges in at startup? ie Hard Drive, modem etc? If you do, are these devices working ok?

Hi Shane,

I know you said you'd updated the drivers, but it all points to driver incompatibility with SP2. Do you have any other USB devices you can plug in for next boot up? Just to see if it's a complete disaster or not! Also, can you list the devices you are using, and i'll try find alternative drivers for you, to see if it makes a difference.

This is the main troubleshooting tip i've found so far

Incompatibility of drivers
You might encounter problems with old drivers of devices (especially USB devices). Symptoms: Windows freeze, or devices (for example scanners) don't function properly. In such cases, disconnect the device and search for an updated driver.
