hi ok the problem i have is im currently using the bt voyager 105 and i have no probs with that i get all my dsl lights every thing the prob is ive brought a bt vouger 205 and when i put in my dsl and ethernet in all that happens is the power light goes on and thats it the usb light and ethernet lights flash then on last week i tryed it and the dsl light did come on when i power on in network connection my pci network card says connected then not connected ive tryed resetting it but nothing i know the modem works as i see it work at a mates house please help and when i try to put in usb it still dont connect
ive changed all filters but dsl defo works as its works on 105 thanks

Ok, so have you tried removing the 105 drivers before putting the 205 modem into your computer? also goto conrtol panel--->system-->Hardware tab-->device manager and scroll down to USB devices and tell me if theres a usb device there with a yellow exclamation mark as this may be your problem. I cnt think of and other reasons it may not be working, but its 3am in the morning so my brains not in top shape. Looking forward to your reply, yours dave

yes i done a fresh windows installition so there wasnt no other modems and in device manger there is only 1 thing that has got a yellow ? it says pci bridge device thats the only 1 in device manger that has this yellow ? i have a emachine e3021 desktop pc i have tryed to change settings in network connections

ip- 192.168.0.3
sub -255.255.255.0
default- 192.168.1.1

but all im getting is when powered on it accuries network then connected for 2 sec then of and when i try to use it on usb nothing usally when connecting some thing it goes to found new hard ware mind blowing i know the modem works as i have tryed it on another manchine thanks

ok, have you contacted your isp to activate your use of broadband? if you got the modem from a friend or something i don't think it will work unless its activated at the other end. also have you checked all cables going to the telephone line are not damaged. i will try to research this problem for you and get back to you

what u mean activated ? my isp is perfect i have her a adsl bt vouger 105 no problems it this 205 the 1

what i mean is that your internet service provider think your using a 105 meaning that your 205 won't work unless you tell them. thats probably the reason it won't connect.

phoned my isp they said it dont matter what modem u use the problem is it wont connect by ethernet it wont connect by usb
