xp won't boot! plz help

My pc worked fine last nite when i shut it down, this morning when i went to boot up, all i get is the prop screen asking to boot in reg windows or safe mode or safe mode with network, it won't boot into anything lol, when i try it acts like it going to boot but ends up back @ the same screen, i don't know if my copy of xp is org. i trhink it might b a hacked copy an with the new downlaod from msn lately i was wondering if that had somethingto do with it.
i can get into my confiv setting's but i don't c any help in there. i;m lost, like i said it was working fine last nite an then boom nothing this morning, it's like it's in a loop or i'm locked out of windows or a hardware problem.

One thing you can try, is a repair installation of Windows

Boot of your Windows XP cd, and follow the prompts to Repair Install. If it works, this will get you back to windows, where you can backup all the files you need and format. I strongly suggest you format after this, as your windows will be at around 1/4 of what it should be.
