Default New Hard Drive, What Comes first?

I recently purchased a new laptop, however, it only came with a 30gb hard drive. I just purchased a new 60gb one to replace it and a case for the 30gb one to make it removable. However, I need to know how to first install XP on the 60gb, or if I should install something else first.

Thanks a ton,
Connor

EDIT: I forgot to add, Ive been having troubles installing Windows Updates. I tell them to go, and then it just says they cant be installed. When I go to shut it down, it gives me the option to shut down and install updates, but that doesnt appear to work either. Although, it may be resolved just by replacing the hard drive, so I guess Ill just wait for that

With your laptop, you should have recieved some Recovery CD's.

Once you have installed your 60gb hd into the laptop, insert the first recovery CD, and boot up your computer for the laptop. Then follow the on screen instructions.

Unfortunately, it didnt come with Recovery CD's. I bought it off eBay and therefore didnt come with original documentation or the CD's.

That's another easy solution...you should be able to get in touch with the manufacturers and they can provide you with one.

What kind of laptop is it?

Anytime...
They might frown upon the fact you got it from eBay, so leave that bit out, just say yours got damaged or something simple.
