Default Dot matrix printer and windows xp problem

I?m having a problem with a dot matrix printer and windows XP. I use this to print labels for VHS tapes and the printer is functioning just fine. However after it prints a label it scrolls the paper up and wastes 5 or 6 labels. I can?t scroll the paper back down because the labels peel off. Its scrolls it up because normally on a dot matrix you tear the paper at the end of the front cover. This cover has been taken off and on the old computer (an ancient one running windows 95) it would not scroll the paper up after printing and I could just peel the one label off without wasting any. I have used the same printer drivers, Epson FX50 i belive, and I know it is not any setting on the printer itself because I can switch from one computer to the other and only the windows xp computer scrolls the paper after printing. I have made the exact same settings in the printer control panel for both computers so it is not any setting for the driver as I can see. Any ideas? Could it be a Microsoft word feature. The person who set this up on the win95 computer is long gone. So I can?t ask him how he did it. Any help is appreciated. thanks

Hey Keith,

Welcome to PCHF. I sincerely apologize for the delay in answering your post. We do have a wonderful team of techs here, and I feel certain we can help you resolve this frustration.

I just want to clarify a few things, can you please post the make and model of the printer you are using?

The XP machine is not having any trouble communicating with the printer, it prints fine, and the printer settings available to you look identical in both machines?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN
