Angry Windows XP System Restore Failed on my Laptop!

Tried to do system restore a few days ago. I had to hit F11 and then do the system restore, that worked but when the machine re-booted the Windows XP Home Edition Set-up will only install halfway. and it freezes. I`ve tried shutting it off and re-starting and it still freezes up half-way through the installation process." Next I called and ordered the restoration cd. I own a GAtewat 7324GZ Lap top. AFter following the instructions, it will now freeze up at : windows xp installing devices such as keyboard and mouse. I went to BIOS and made sure it was defaulted first to CD. Can you help me?

Hi there Shellizabeth , welcome to PCHF.

Do you have any USB devices or other external hardware connected? If yes , then try installing with those disconnected.

And did any of the internal hardware change , or been added since you bought the pc? Also are you using the original mouse and keyboard that came with the pc?

Nothing's connected. The only thing i've done different is added wireless networking from the main home computer.

I just turned it on and the only message I get is:
Windows XP Set-Up
Please wait...

Try removing the wireless connection , and then start the restoration process again.
