Default try this

run desktop wizzerd ,, clean out docs history to. restor defautlt icons,,

if hidden folder are shown,, rehide them, then delete evrything of your desk top or save it to a folder to your documents.. if a missing file to a shortcut is present it will show up then.

Actually, I got it working. Turns out I had to actually turn off my computer, not just restart it. Thank you so much joe5! And everone else who helped! If I'm having more problems with it, I'll post back. Thanks again!

Oh no. It's happening again! I'm going to get my XP disk tomorrow, and hopefully that'll clear it up. Another problem I found out is that Internet Explorer isn't working, either. It won't boot up. (I'm using Mozilla, by the way.) I'm going to download the latest IE update, and see if that does anything. The problems are probably related.
