I got this little Gateway 800 mhz celeron 256 megs of ram it has ME on it but it freezes and crashes so I am putting xp on it. The thing is when it pops up press any key blah blah blah I do it and it just restarts. I did the f9 or f8 forgot what it was and it say I need 512kb low and I only got like 400 or something. Any help would be great!

Hey Spider,Welcome back. I'm so sorry for the delay in answering your post. Are you installing XP from a clean format? ME can be a bear to upgrade from. It is best to FDISK the PC, completely delete all partitions, recreate, using all of the disk space, then put the CD in, and format into NTFS. Then install XP. Let us know how you are coming along with your upgrade. Looking forward to your reply, TTFN LGW
