Hello!
My name is Vitor and im kinda scared because i suspect i lost all my documents for good!
I was having some windows start problem, the pc crashed everytime it started windows (even before the logon screen), and after trying everything else i decided to install windows (xp) again, but when i finished doing it and i opened my documents and tryed to open my old user folder i got "access denied"! i use to use a password! is that the reason?
i checked the hard disk free space and it looks the same, so i thought my documents could still be recovered (i really hope so!)...does anyone have any clue of what i can do? i really dont wanna loose my 4 or 5 years old documents, favorites, all my photos...

First of , don't worry. All youre files should still be there.

Have a look here for instructions on how to get access to those folders again:

And incase you have XP home , then you'll need this to be able to access the security tap as mentioned in the above link:
