So i have xp 64bit version and it does not support my itunes or my printer. Basically I just want to downgrade to xp pro but there is a problem. I can't, for the life of me, boot from the xp disc. I restart, choose to boot from my dvdrom drive, and the it says "press any key to boot from cd...." and well, no keys work. Takes me into windows everytime. even when i disabled the hard drive from the boot sequence, it still takes me there. I just want an OS that works with stuff I buy.

are you just trying to install the old version of windows over the top of x64?
if so...it probably won't work if your cd that you're trying to boot with is an "upgrade" version of windows, then it will not be bootable. If it is windows xp, then you can download 6 discs (used to be able to anyway) from microsft, that means you can install the upgrade version without actually upgrading from a previous operating system. |
