Default Getting rid of dual OS & help with com crashing upon 1st boot.

Hi.
There are 2 problems I am experiencing.

1.
As my computer encountered some error, I was forced to install 2 operating systems on my computer, one on C drive and one on E drive. After that, I want to get rid of the OS on my E drive so I right-clicked it in My Computer and formatted it. However, when I boot my computer, it still prompts me to choose between 2 operating systems even though I have only one on my computer. Can anyone please tell me how can I get rid of all traces of the other operating system such that when I boot my computer it would not prompt me to choose?

2. Whenever I boot my computer for the first time in hours, it will either

A) get stuck during the loading Windows XP Professional screen ( the blue bar loading got stuck and never resumed)

or

B) Load all the way to the welcome screen and when I choose my user, it loads normally but within the first few seconds after everything finished loading, it would freeze and I have to reboot

or

C) Reboot itself after loading Windows XP Professional and reach the welcome screen. When I enter my account, it will just say the system has just recovered from a serious error.

Either of this 3 scenarios will occur everytime I boot my computer for the first time in a few hours. However, if I reboot it then everything would function normally.
Can anyone help me resolve this issue such that my windows would operate normally upon the first boot?

Thanks.

Hey hy565!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

On problem 1:
You will need to change your boot.ini file for this.
Click Start -> Run -> "msconfig", and click the boot.ini tab.

On problem 2:
Are you sure that your harddrive and your temperatures are allright?
What kind of harddrive do you have?

Hi!
My first problem has been solved! Thanks alot

Regarding my second problem,
I don't know much about my hard disk
other than it is 40GB <_<
Ok, so I downloaded Speedfan 4.28
I don't know how to read it so I'll just write down what it says

Fan 1: 2722 RPM
Fan 2: 3000 RPM
Fan 3: 0 RPM

Temp 1: 43C
Temp 2 : 35C
temp 3 : 21C
HD0 : 44C

I ran an online analysis and this is what it said:

Your hard disk is a MAXTOR 6L040J2 with firmware A93.0500.
The average temperature for this hard disk is 42C (MIN=30C MAX=55C) and yours is 43C.

All of the attributes of your hard disk have normal values. This is good.

The overall fitness for this drive is 90%.
The overall performance for this drive is 97%.

So is this information helpful?
The strange thing is that it only crashes on first boot. After that it doesnt crash often <_<.
