Default [Resolved] xp user password got changed

A friend of mine has had his XP user account password changed by a not so friendly work colleague, Is there any way of resetting it or chenging it back without losing any settings.

I have already suggested turning off the welcome screen and then pressing cancel when it gets to the xp logon screen, cant remember if that works or not. if my memory serves me right, it used to work with Win 98

If it's pro

start/run control userpasswords2 will list all user accounts and let you change passwords.
