Default help! windows xp ate my password!

i restarted my computer this morning and when it started back up it asked for my password (as always, even returning from screensaver), but now all of a sudden it doesn't recognize it. i do not have caps lock on and i DO know what the password is ... or at least what it was before shutting it down earlier... it has not been changed and i am the only person with access to that pc. can anyone please help? backdoors? work arounds? boot disks?

thanks,
jen

Hey jenjenut233!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

Have you got only one user account?

You may try to boot in Safe Mode (tapping F8 at start-up), and log on as the administrator.
