Hi there

That sounds like majorly outdated drivers there, go to www.ATI.com and download drivers from there.
Or if you prefer, like me, stripped and tweaked drivers from DNA ATI then you can download them from here: http://www.dna-drivers.com/page.php?id=31

Hope that helps,
Cheers

Was a bit tired last time, sorry, meant to welcome you to PCHF but it slipped my mind. So yea, welcome to the forum bud, enjoy your stay

Anyways, let's get to work on your problem. Can you give me a detailed run down of your computer specifications? Especialy your PSU, I'm not too sure about anything at the moment but I have a few ideas.

1) Could be your video card isn't getting enough power
2) You may not have enough RAM, or you have incompatible RAM cards installed
3) Your motherboard came with a CD yes? Did you install everything that came on it?

Let me know when you can, hope it helps somewhat

Cheers

Hey geedo1!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

Have you been able to try the graphics card in another PC?

Please follow on with the instructions DarkLord gave you too.

yeh i have a 3.2 800mhz ect ht intel petium 4 procesor, msi 865 pe platiunum motherboard i didnt have the cd with the motherboard but i got all the the chip drivers ect. there wasnt any agp graphics drivers that come with it they just give a ati driver but it says its only compatiable with certan graphics cards and mine is compatiable with it so yeh that could be it. i just used ma ati cd and updated the driver form the ati.com. my graphics card works on ma brothers pc yeh its all fine so thats anoying. i have a 330 wat psu- powering harddrive to cd ide drives and to pci cards, one sound card. i have 1gig of ram ddr 400 3200 2x 512mb cards.the first graphics card i had that i put into this new motherboard started smoking and actully broke lol but i dont no why? :S that happend ive tried two diffrent grphics cards but there the 8600 and 8600xt 256 ram so there slightly simular they both have the same simptums. i must say the tempory 16 bit radeon ati card i tried worked and was fine but i couldnt try it on games cus it wasnt powerfull enough. thats all i can give u right now just carry on postin and i get back to you hope that helps. thanx
