Hi this is my first post so hopefully I have posted it in the right area! Every once in a while when I click on the Start button I find the icons/programs in my 'pinned items' are appearing twice, i.e. each icon appear twice. The icons/programs involved are Internet (MSN explorer, Disk Cleanup & Outlook Express). The PC appears to operate normally when it happens and my hard disk appears OK (I have HD Tune insatlled and it indicates no problem). What causes this & is this a problem?

Additionally from time to time my shutdown (from time to time as well) is slowing down.

sounds to me like you may want to scan for spyware...and as for the double icons i'd just delete the second one and see if they pop back up...also try to defrag as you may have some files in more than one place...hope this helps

Thanks for the quick reply.. I am not sure the problem is spyware as I have Spyware Doctor, Windows Defender, Sybot - Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware SE Personal & Spyware Blaster installed on my PC and regular scans all come up with no problems (I actually scan with Spyware Doctor each day).

I also Norton AV 2006 installed on my PC.
