Default Exceptable number?

Is there like an "execptable" ammount of spyware that, no matter how much protection you have, you are just going to get some little spyware things. Or is the presence of any spyware a sign that you need to be doing something more? Because I have SP2, several spyware programes, Firewall, AV, and all that and I run the scans nightly. But I still have a handfull of little spyware things that they clean up everyday.

PJ

Hya PJ.

I'd say zero , not counting tracking cookies. What is actually being found , only tracking cookies , or actuall spyware?

Most likely just tracking cookies--which are largely harmless, except for clogging up your cache file. Though some security gurus are still arguing this point. You can set browser security to block almost everything... but then websurfing slows to a crawl/no pictures/no video. You have to come to a personal conclusion what you are willing to put up with-- balanced against necessary security.

I just run the scans clean everything out every day or 2-- just to keep an eye on it.

I'm not sure, the only one I can remember was like "Wild Tangent" or something like that.

Have a look next time what it finds , and Wild Tangent is installed with online games , not really nasty. Have a look here:

If you keep using games that use it , then it will keep coming back each time.

ok I've been running spybot every night hoping to catch it again but of course, the moment I tell someone I get them every tie, they stop showing up. . . lol
