Default Can i perform XP repair on secondry drive?

My computer restarts when i turn it on as soon as the windows XP logo and loading bar should appear, it keeps restarting and repeating this process forever. So i put the hard drive on another computer as a secondry drive as it meant windows was running of the working computer - i was able to access my files which was good.

What i want to know is if i keep the hardrive from the computer that isnt working on the good computer as a secondry drive, could i perform a windows repair on the secondry drive?

yeh i did, u can get into the bios but it varys on the amount of time before the computer restarts, usually after being in the bios for 5 seconds it restarts - so there isn't enough time to change anything. an i need to get into the bios to change to boot order to cdrom first

Yup , that can be done on a slave drive. Just select the right O.S. to repair during the process.

But that wont help you im afraid , because then it will load the drivers and settings for the hardware from the second pc , and then it wont boot in the first pc anymore.

And since the problem is also there when youre in youre bios then it wont be a windows or HD problem.

More likely a hardware or heat problem , do all the fans still work inside?
