Hello To All,

I have written about my cd/dvd drive not showing up in my system. Yes, when I open it no problem, light blinks when I close it. My floppy drive just won't read any floppy disk I put in there.

I have done Ladygreenwitch's prework.

Now I want to just clear the hard drive maybe then the drives will work again.

When I try to run the sfc/scannow this is what I get: Windows cannot find 'sfc/scannow'. Make sure you typed the name correctly.

Looking for more help.

Hi Potatopiee67,

When running that application, you need to add a space before the forwardslash.

ie sfc /scannow

I'm guessing this may be why it won't run for you mate.

Yes I finally did that, but what is it suppose to do? it seemed to have ran, but my cd/dvd drive is still missing.

That will look for , and replace missing or damaged protected windows files. But have a look for an other option in youre thread in the cd/dvd forum.
