Exclamation Which is best to run XP PRO on FAT32 OR NTFS?

HI,

I am wanting to clear my hard drive once again, but I am wondering which is the best way to have it on FAT 32 OR NTFS? AND WHY?. Now I use to be able to use my floppy drive, but everytime I put a floopy disk in it, it doesn't read it. So I started using my cd drive, but guess what? I can't use it now, in my device manager there is that yellowexclamation mark. and even when I uninstalled it and rebooted my pc it still won't work. But I think that stems from me installing ahead nero image drive, becuase windows explorer a coulple of days ago, was reading I had a D: and E: drive, then today, it is reading no drives at all.

Now as you can tell I am having several problems with my system, the other problem I am having is not enough memory, I seem to be using too much of it, and that seems to slow down my performance.

The bottom line I am asking is this: CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME TO GET MY SYSTEM TO RUNNING TOP NOTCH?

Hi Potatopiee67.

You seem to have quite some problems.

Fat32 vs NTFS , have a look here:

http://www.theeldergeek.com/ntfs_or_...ile_system.htm

And have you tried uninstalling nero since the problem with the cdrom seems to have started then?

Lets clean up abit aswell:

Please download ATF-Cleaner.
Run ATF-Cleaner:
First check "Select All" , and then remove the tick infront of "History".
Then click Empty Selected.
When you get the "Done Cleaning" message, click OK.

Also install and run RegSupremePro.
It will want to make a backup of your registry , let it. Once it has finished, click on the Registry Cleaner tab, select Aggressive. When it has completed, click on Select, choose All. Click on Fix, and let it fix everything that it finds.

And to have a look what is running , please post an hijackthis log.

Thank You for your time, Yes I uninstalled all of the nero. But still coming up with the Yello exclamation Point. for my cd drive. even when I did a uninstall of the drive, and rebooted my system.

I am going to try and do the other suggestions you have for me. I will keep you informed.

Oh by the way, what is the HijackThis log? do I just click on the link there and post what?
