ok i reformatted my hd and now there is a bunch of files left over from my previous installation that i dont want nemore and some of them when i try to delete they say access is denied and what not. and also i dont know what files are okay to delete in the documents and settings folder. there are still some programs in program files but they dont show up in start menu or add/remove programs so how do i get them to show up in those?? or do i just keep what i want and delete the rest? plz help! thanks for all your help! remote desktop connection would be nice so u guys can do it for me.

any1? please i have 111g hd and it says 9 gigs are free and i cannot figure out wtf is taking up so much space!!!! i know its not windows installation because when i first got comp i had all 111 im pretty sure

Hey confidential, you could use treesize to find out whats taking up the space from http://www.jam-software.com/freeware/TreeSizeSetup.exe

Sounds like you installed a new copy of windows next to the old one instead of installing fresh.

Since this is a fresh install and you wanted to formatt anyway its best to start over but this time boot from the windows cd and delete the old partition first.
