Hi James!
My welcome to PC Helpforum! So what you're saying is that you have tried to boot in Normal Mode, Safe Mode, etcetera? Have you got any idea how this started to happen? Blue |

It could also be an hardware failure like HD for instance.
Sounds like a good idea to try an repair install of windows: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...ps/doug92.mspx

As i bought the pc from pc world, and did not come with any restore/os cd's & it's only running home edition. I only have a XP Pro, with SP2 disk, because i bought it to pu it on my "new Imac Itel Duo 20 inch" and now is running both Os! Fantastic!
I have a lot of valuble data on my pc, and wish not to lose, could i take out the hd and pop it in a case and connect it to my laptop. and get some thing of it. Should i use my xp pro disk or not James

could this be caused by an over heating CPU? or a damaged CPU?
Does the system crash as xp is just about to kick in? |

No , dont use the XP pro disc for an repair install. That wont work. But you indeed could attach the hd to a second pc and copy things of it (if the hd isn't damaged anyway) , and then try to do a fresh install of XP pro on there.
