Default HD problem

Hi all.Im new here.
Here is my problem:
I have xp(sp2) and 2 ATAPI HDs
My primary master is 20GB.I tried to copy an image(4.2GB) from a DVD to HD and failed(because of old DVD drive).
Anyways the HD appears (in the PROPERTIES)to be almost full after that incident.
I even formated the disk and reinstalled xp.After instalation the xp got 3.5 gb out of 20!(is that correct?)

I tried to copy again and i have only 5.5 gb free!!
I run diskckeck(including bad sectors)...nothing...
If i choose all the folders of C: it says about 2.2gb
plz help me

Hey arisgr0!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

First of all, my apologies in the delay in reply.

So does the size of your disk also change? I mean, you have only 5,5 GB free, but what's in use?

What are you trying to copy the image with?

Also, there are probably a lot of hidden files which are not counted when you select all maps.

Blue
