Windows XP/2000 - [Fixed] help missing or corrupted aic78xx.sys posted in the Operating Systems forums; earlier today i was trying to format my hard drive and reinstall windows cause of all the viruses and all the programs i downloaded and i went through the blue ...

Default [Fixed] help missing or corrupted aic78xx.sys

earlier today i was trying to format my hard drive and reinstall windows cause of all the viruses and all the programs i downloaded and i went through the blue screen start up booting off the windows xp disk and in the middle of it checking for all the drives and stuff is said aic78xx.sys is missing or corrupted can anyone help me ive been trying to copy windows xp to my hard drive then download the missing or corrupted files but it wouldnt let me copy the files to the hardrive not all anyway............thanks in advance

did you try running setup again?
are you repartitioning on a clean hard drive or within windows?
Is the cd dirty? try a different cd if you can?

yes ive done it like 10 times or so same exact error each time i tried burning the cd key but came up with the same error ya the cd is very scratched but is there a way i can get those missing or corrupted files then burning them on a cd

If it is that scracthed up where it will tell you blah blah has a bad sector it gets very hard to copy the disc at least. Have you tired that? In like 2x mode verrrry slow. take some windoex to it. I know they say dont but I do it to my discs all the time when I get bad sector. Do you have a floppy and about 6 empty floppies then there is a way.

windoex? ya and when i tried to burn it had ton of bad sectors just skipped it u recommend a program cause im using cd clone that good?
