Default Big Problem Help Really Apreciated!

I don't know what the problem is with software/hardware games/windows xp?? so iv'e posted it hear, not only with games (mainly football manager) but occasionly with a few programmes running (such as media player, messenger, etc) my computer randomly restarts or in the case of football manager 2 minutes into running either restarts or simply ends the programme and returns to windows. This has been going on for a year now and i really need help with it, not a virus problem as ive ran many many checks and even wiped my computer and tried and again and still the same problem. Is it is possible an XP problem or maybe actually something inside my computer not built right? The specs are more than enough for whats been happening
512 Mb Ram
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+
2.16GHz

ANY IDEAS PLEASE HELP!

Hello and welcome to PCHF azz88.

It sounds like it may be hardware related, but first would you be able to run a windows update and make sure that everything is up to date.
Next download and installed the latest drivers for both your video card and your sound card.

Once you have done those things try to run your games again and see if you experience the same problems, if you do then I recommend that try another video card in your computer. (try borrow one from a friend)

Thankyou very much, ive done these things and it still crashes on football manager (which has the most basic of basic graphics that a mere windows video card could run) and plus the computer seems not to crash on games such as doom 3 but when it is running many programmes at once or again football manager which takes a lot of process power, could this be a RAM problem or Heater Problem, i understand that sometimes RAM is not plugges in properly is this true?
Also, these are my temperatures taken after a crash are they normal??.....
CPU Temp = 56c/132f
SYS Temp = 32c/89f
CPU Fan Speed = 2556 RPM
SYS Fan Speed = 0 RPM

Reply much appreciated and thankyou for the welcome!!

Those temperatures don't seem to be too bad, however it will be a good idea to open your case and make sure that the fan on top of the processor is spinning fast.

You can try removing your RAM, and cleaning the bottom of it with your finger tips, then place them back in your system.
Next run some memory test software to determine whether the RAM is faulty:

Can you also run Regclean from windows, this will get rid of any unnecessary registry entries which could cause problens.
