Exclamation Iam Missing MSVCRT.dll

Iam Missing MSVCRT.dll after the windos splash screen it comes up with a blue screen that says i need to reinstall MSVCRT.dll cuz it couldnt find it. Iam on another comp becuz there is no way to get past that blue screen I use Windows Media center xp which i just bought this year with the laptop if you have any suggestions on how to reinstall this file it will be greatly appreciated NOTE: I dont got the XP cd for my computer and cant reboot it because i dont know how i got a Dell inspiron 9300

yea i know but how am i going to be able to install that into my laptop if i cant get to the log on screen?

Oh I'm sorry, I thought you just needed the file. . . I'm afraid a real tech will have to help you there. Someone will help ya out pretty soon. . Sorry I couldnt help lol. I tried.

lol thanks bro this is going to be a tough one unless someone can have me burn a cd with that file and a script or something that will automatically start installing it when i boot my pc kind of like a operating system cd =)

Welcome to the forum specop.

Did you try booting the PC in safe-mode?
Do you have system restore enabled?
Can you get another XP CD?
Did you try "last known good configuration" from the safe-mode boot list?
Can you tell us the exact error message....

Yea i tried booting it in safe mode.
I dont know how to enable restore mode for dell computers if you can help me out it would be appreciated. (Insprion 9300)
Iam getting another xp cd from Dell.
I tried last known good configuration
I can tell you the error message:STOP:c0000135 {unable to locate component}
This Apllication has failed to start because msvcrt.dll was not found. Rei-installing this application may fix this problem.
