Unhappy [Fixed] - Basic sound problem, im probly a ******

Hey there this is a basic problemso dont laugh at me lol.
OK i want to change my windows start up sound to a sound file on my pc, i tried going into control panel and selecting the file for the sound but when i looked in the folder it was not there as a .wav file even though it should be. Ok so I though 'i know' and moved the file into the folder where all the windows media sound files were e.g. error noise etc. I went back on control panel and again my sound file was not there so basicly im stuck, is there anything I have to do to make it come up in the list? Please help

Howdy royston, Have you clicked browse when you try to change you sounds? You will be able to find it much easier that way. Then save it as well

Did you try a search for .wav files? And is it still in the origanl folder you movd it from? If you know the name of the wav file it woul make searching for it much easier. just search for audio through search.

did you try to rename the extension to .wav just on case it changed. Maybe reboot let it find a home lol. The try it. does it show up when you click all files instead of just .wav files?
