Default Help With Startup Programs

Does anyone know which programs/applications need to be running when my PC boots up?

I go to "Run" and type in "msconfig" to get a list of (I thinks it's) "Services" and "Startup". I'm not sure which ones I can untick that are not necessary. I'm hoping it will speed my PC up when booting up

You need to click on the Startup tab, and just make sure you have an Antivirus program, spyware protection and Firewall program startup.

That depends on what you do with youre pc , what hardware you use , what kind of internet connection you use ect. ect.

That is impossible to say from here what needs to be running on youre pc , but you could look up the services on pages like this and then determine if you need them or not:

http://www.theeldergeek.com/services_guide.htm
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Taskl...s/tasklist.htm

And then if you cant figure out if you need one or not , then just ask here.

PS , i would disable services trough start/run/services.msc instead of start/run/msconfig.
