My brother got an iRiver H10 - 20 GB MP3 player and it's not working with his computer. Whenever he plugs it in, nothing happens. There aren't any drivers or anything requried either because I plugged it into my computer and it worked perfectly. He's had it for about a month now and hasn't been able to use it so I'm really trying to fix it for him. What could be the problem?

Does the USB port work for other things? Does the iRiver work in another computers USB port?

I tried plugging in the mouse to the same USB port on his computer and it works.

Yeah the MP3 player plugs into my computer's USB port and works fine.

I am not familiar with this product but with some external USB devices (such as the Sony PSP) you need to set the actual device to "USB mode" before Windows will pick it up...

No, that isn't required. On my computer all I do is turn it on, plug it in, and it's ready to go.

Did you install software for this device?

Yeah, I installed MMJB. Nothing is required though. Like I said, it works fine on my computer and I installed nothing for it.
