Default video card problem

I recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows. Everything is working fine but my dual monitors. They both show the same thing. When I go to "displays" in the control panel, only one monitor is showing up there. The next thing I did was go to the device manager where it appears that I may not have the proper drivers for my video card installed???

The problem is that I don't know where to get the proper driver because I don't remember anything about my video card. I think it's made by ATI so I went there and tried one of their drivers but it didn't work.

Is there somewhere I can go to find the exact specs of my video card? The device manager simply calls it "video controller (VGA compatible)". Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hey dubstyle5000!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

What kind of graphical card is there in your PC?
Are both monitors connected to 1 graphics card?

You might need to download the software from e.g. nvidia to use both screens as you want to.

You could have a look with this app to see if it shows what video card you have:

And if it is an ATI Radeon and you are running the normal version of XP then this should be the right driver:

(youll need .net to install it)

And for an Nvidia card this should probebly be the right driver:
