Default IS this an XP or DOS problem?

Hi all.
I have tried to open a DOS window using the run facility. I entered "cmd" but all I get is a blank DOS screen then this message pops up:

"C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.com The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction. CS:06da IP:7380 OP:63 74 65 72 73 Choose close to terminate the application."
I then get a click or ignore option.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I've also run "Hijack This" and i've got a log - just wondering who I can send it to for looking at as well.

thanks

Hi cookie_boy2000 and welcome to PCHF,
Please follow the prework and afterwards post the Hijackthislog as an attachment in the hijackthis section with a description of your problem and an ewido log. One of our experts will take a look at both and definately solve your problem :-)
Good luck, Bram
