Hello S Houghton,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful team of techs here, with lots of malware removal experience, and I am sure we will be able to help.

First of all, is the version of XP that you installed a legal copy? Frequently illegal copies are encrypted with virus' and there is very little chance of resolving this, if the copy of XP you are using keeps reinstalling the virus.

Secondly, I will need a list of programs that you have tried to resolve this with, that way we won't be telling you to download programs you already have. Sometimes it is not what you use, but how you use it, and in what order.

Finally, can you please follow the instructions for PreWork in my signature, you may already have ewido, however, following the instructions exactly is important. We will take a look at your ewido and HijackThis logs once you have posted them.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

Hi S Houghton,

(we have to come up with something shorter to type for you, lol)

Have you gone back and Fdisked your drive before doing the install? Completely erasing and reinstalling your partitions?

Did you at any time download an upgrade to your bios? If so, where did you get it from?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN
