Default [Fixed] BSOD Problems

So, as you know from my earlier thread, I just bought a new laptop (again). I was leaving it running for a say or 2 to make sure that it wasnt DOA and everything was good. I turned it off this morning, and when I came back today, I turned it on. Everything booted perfectly, and I even saw the desktop with some icos appearing in the tray. However, after a bit, a BSOD pops up for about 1 second and the computer restarts. It did this about 5 times or so. I've tried unplugging all external devices, but it didnt help. I currently have it in safe mode (it boots fine in safe mode) running a virus scan. Is there anything else that you can think of that I do to fix it?

Thanks,
Connor

Do you have all of the necessary/newest drivers installed for your laptop?

I remember that doing anything graphically intensive on my laptop while having the old drivers installed caused a BSOD. This might be your problem too. Try running Windows Update as well as getting the drivers from Video card sites and stuff

Hope this helps!

Well, I would try that, but I cant even get my computer on long enough to get any drivers...the BSOD comes up and it restarts. Update: I told Spysweeper not to open at startup, and that seemed to slow the BSOD from coming...

Forgive me if I'm ignorant, but can't you install things in safe-mode? You did say that the computer was stable with this.

Well, it is, but I know I have all the most recent drivers...plus I cant access anything online while in safe mode. I asked someone else, he said that it could be because of a virus, however, my Norton Virus Scan came up clean...

Has the laptop already been connected to the internet? And if it has , does it have a firewall and is windows updated?

And did you install the newest drivers youreself , or did it came preinstalled?

For a quick malware check post a hijackthis log id say. Link below in my sig.

The laptop is connected to the internet (I actually just realized that you can start it in safe mode with networking, so thats what Im doing) and has all its Windows Updates/Firewall. I have Spysweeper along with the Windows Firewall, (both updated), so I think Im pretty set there unless you dont think so.

Most of the drivers came preinstalled. Really, the only external things I've added were a Motorola PCMCIA card with the drivers on a CD, a Microsoft mouse, which I didnt even need drivers for, and a bluetooth adapter, which I once again, didnt install drivers for. As far as I know, all the other drivers are updated, although I couldnt tell you for sure.

I also posted a hijackthis log for you to take a look at.

Thanks!
