Looks good to me , but to delete that file set hidden files and folders to show first:
  1. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
  2. Click the View tab.
  3. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
  4. And if needed also remove the tick infront of "hide protected system files"
  5. If you see a warning message, click Yes.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click OK.

Then you should be able to find and delete it.

How is it going with the cpu usage?

had those settings in place already when i tried the first time to find taskmon.exe. I double checked and tried again, but could not find the file. As for today cpu usage is good for now, but my computer has only been on for a half hour.

We could see if Killbox can still find and delete the file , but it should be pretty harmless anyway now.

download KillBox by Option^Explicit from HERE.

Double click on Killbox.exe and then check the delete on reboot button.

Enter the following filepath and filename into the Full path of file to delete box:

C:\winnt\System32\taskmon.exe

Click the red circle with the white x and allow your computer to reboot.
(if killbox doesn't reboot on its own then please reboot manually)

Keep an eye on the proc usage for abit , and report back how it goes please.
