Default Turn off active x on desktop

How do I turn active x off on my xp desktop? I used a program called tweak xp to change my desktop so that it showed desktop icons in a list rather than the large icons usually displayed. I turned this setting back to how it was before the change but now my icons have solid colour backgrounds behind the icon text. Usually there are no solid backgrounds when using jpg images as a background.

System restore is on but there are no restore points avaliable before this change.

Post play list

i have my screen on 1600x1200 at 76hz and when i used winamp it came on so small so i double sized it but the play list refuses to double size so it looks goffy and i can barely read the songs.. is there a way to get the playlist to grow?

EDIT: Do not add links to your post, and please do not post your question in someone elses thread. Please check your PMs.

LGW

Do you mean the thread I posted a couple of weeks ago? I ended up formatting because no one knew how to fix it (and i had other problems so formatting got rid of them all) but I stupidly starting playing with tweaking software again and the same thing happened.

Have you tried the System Restore to before you installed the tweaking software?
