Default trying to restore my laptop

My laptop cuts off while restoring with the CD's that the unit came, as of now I don't have anything in the laptop I lost everything and by restoring with CD's the laptop reaches to 55% and then shots off, I contacted the eMachines manufactory but they want to much money for repairs and I will have to ship the unit to them, I was runing windows XP Home edition.

hi gus, welcome to pchf, have you tried plugging your laptop into the wall to make sure your power isnt going?, also have u got a friend which has a disk u could lend and try restoring off that, as i dont know what laptop ur using i cant really give much help, maybe u could give us a bit more info on what ur laptop is and how you are doing the restore. thx dave

Welcome to the forums Gus,

If you don't want any of the information that is on the drive then I recon you should do a complete format and reload.

Firslty remove the battery from your laptop and leave the AC power plugged in, then boot off your restore CD and perform a format and fresh installation of windows.

Also make sure there is no hardware connected to the laptop that didn't originaly came with the laptop. The recovery discs wont have drivers for that hardware and that could cause problems.
