Angry Accessing Command Line

My PC is throwing a fit (unknown reason) and is giving me the options:
  • Safe mode
  • Safe Mode with networking
  • Safe mode with command line
  • Restore to last known good configuation
I have tried all these options and just get a list of drivers displayed and then the machine hangs.

If I can get into the command line I can fdisk and reinstall the OS (Win XP) and hopefully solve my probs.

Is there a Fkey or other means that I can use to access the command line straight from boot up?

Thanks for any help offered

Hey troubled woman!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

So what you in fact want is to reinstall XP?
You probably don't need to get to command line therefore.

You can simply insert your XP CD to your drive, and then re-start your computer. Make sure that it's configured to boot from CD first. If you don't know how to do that, get back to us.

Before formatting (unless you want to , ofcourse) give an repair install of windows a try:

http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

That way you'll keep all youre files and installed apps , but you will only have to update windows again afterwords.

If you cant even get in the bios then it cant be a windows problem , then it is probebly a bios or hardware problem. But if youre pc boots untill the safemode menu then it is past the bios , so you should be able to get in youre bios i think.

How are you trying to get in youre bios?
