Hello charles,

Too bad to hear you have problems with installing Windows XP. Let's try to help.

As you said: you have new hardware installed. Is the only thing new the external harddisk? At least, I thing with ext you mean external. Then it's easy to rule out that as a problem: Deconnect it from the pc and try to install Windows XP.

Another problem can be that the first installation part didn't went to well. I would suggest you remove the extern harddisk from your pc (just disconnect it with removing the cable from your usb port) and redo the complete installation.

Hope this'll work. If so: let me know. If not so: let me know either, I and other PCHF-members are willing to help you!

Greetings
