Question have new prob

hey all i am having a new problem that i never had in the past i installed new hd in pc went to install fresh copy of windows xp and it keeps giving me this error message and its not just the one hd it is on all hds that i try even on diff systems here is the error message

File\i386\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded
the error code is 16
set up cannot continue
press any key to reboot

that is a new one to me i have tryed the disk i have and a floppy setup i have also and its the same thing every time i am so puzzled :o plz help before i take a sledge hammer to hds and pc's #40 at that lol

Looks like your CD got damaged, is that possible?
Are there any scratches on the backside?

no there are no scratches on the back side of the cd i have tryed a set of floppy boot disks for xp too and they give me the same error code and message so i cant figure it out at all :o

It seems it might could be a wrong cmos setting , weak cmos battery , or maybe bad ram. Give resetting the cmos a try.

ok so just take the battery out for a few and put it back in ? i can do that and if that fails should i change the battry ?

You can change the battery if it is no longer charged. They are cheap and available in lots of places.

Dont forget to remove the powercord from the back of the pc when removing the battery.

And yup , if it doesn't help then try a new battery.
