Default [Fixed] DOS Navigation to install XP

Hi everyone,

quick question: I am about to install xp through the DOS level, cause my self burned XP CD wont boot. Managed to get the maschine booting by a second CD. when I remove that in DOS level i need access the DOs directory (ie the folder I386 and type winnt.exe to start the installation. Does anyone know what I have to key in after R:\> ?? and where to type: winnt.exe ???

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Greetings

Paddy

By the way, if I type cIR I can see the folder I386 listed, I just can get right to it ....

Hi winpaddy,

Welcome to PCHF!

The path to winnt.exe should be d:\i386\winnt.exe whilst you still have the cd in. I assume you have your cd drive as d: and not r: ?
