Well, after all of this, now it is beginning to shut down with other programs as well. I put in a music CD and it played for about 40 minutes before shutting down, without being online. Is there any info that is logged when this happens that I can retreive to try to diagnose this problem?

This truly does seem to be a random problem. My wife was online for about 1.5 hours before it shut down, sometimes it will shut down after 10 minutes. A CD played for 40 minutes before shutdown, and I've now been online for 45 minutes without fail.

hmm..ok, let's rule out a memory problem.

Go HERE and download the utility - run it and carry out a full test on your memory.

I've loaded this program onto a floppy{I think) but this looks like it might be beyond my computer skills and knowledge to run properly. If I insert the disk into my floppy drive and start the PC, is there any way I can screw something up worst than it is by using this program? I don't really understand DOS commands or even what an online command is.
