Default [Fixed] Upgraded computer from windows 95 to xp

I recently upgraded a computer from win 95 to xp. I use a new install path to install it.

I am trying to recover files from the 95 windows. They are folders titled my documents and files that were on the desktop of win 95.

I did not delete anything just did a new install path.

Is there any way to recover these files?

Thanks!

Hya Spyder X , welcome to PCHF.

So you installed XP next to the 95 install? Can you still see the old files on youre HD?

If yes , do you get an "no permission" error when trying to open them? If yes , then have a look here for info on how to get into those files.

If you cant see them , have you set "hidden files and folders" and "protected system files" to show?
