Hey,
I changed a setting for 'icon colour depth' or something along those lines in the XP optimiser program that comes with Norton SystemWorks 2005 and my desktop icons now have a solid colour background behind the text (which is ugly and I dont want). I changed the setting back to 16 bit I think it was before, but the solid background is still there with jpg images set as background.
Heres a screenshot to show you what I mean: http://scott-hodson.com/bridgey/dtop.jpg
How do I fix this? Thank you in advance.

Hi and welcome to PC Help Forum
1. Right-click My Computer and press Properties. 2. Select the Advanced tab. 3. In the Performance area, press the Settings button. 4. Check the Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop box. 5. Press Apply and OK.

Give this a try , untick it and press apply. Then tick it again and press apply again. That might just work.

Try enabling Classic theme in your desktop settings and then switch back to XP Blue (or whatever).
