Default Network Issue

Hi again PCH,
I run two comps and they r connected to each other and the internet as follows:

The cable from my modem goes into my router, from my router I have one cable going to my primary comp and the other cable from my router going to the secondary comp. All works very well.

I am now trying to network both comps to enable me to access files etc on both comps, I have done the wizard on both comps, both use Windows XP, i am able to access my secondary comp from my primary comp for the sharing, but i cannot access my primary comp from my secondary.

All icons r there etc to tell me that the sec comp regonizes my prim comp and vis versa.

I get a message telling me that......primary is not accessable,no permision for net work service, contact Admin of server of to find it have access permission. Access denied.

Now to the questions, have I both comps cabled in ok? ( I have done all the cable checks etc etc )
Or am I missing something?

I read a post with simular probs in this forum but I think I have lost the plot with this , I have no probs with the net connection thats all okay still.

Thanks again with any help.

Andy

Andy, do you will need to have a common user on both PC's. If you have a user "Joe" on PC1 with a password of "password" (examples) then you will need to have the same on PC2 if you want to share between the two. Also you will need to make sure that the folders are actually shared for that user - right click > sharing.
