Exclamation How Can I Reboot?*Help Please*

hi im new to this forum im requesting some help off you guys..

i suffer from many problems with my pc: it restarts alot randomly and when i play a video on media player sometimes/well mostly the videos frame moves really slow and the sound doesnt go in sync with the video. i dont know if i have a undetectable virus... i am using such programs as: BitDefender Pro 9 anti-virus...and Microsoft AntiSpyware,Registry Mechanic,Spyware Doctor and they pick up no viruses or spyware....so i am wondering if i should reboot?....im curious to know if there is a way to reboot without reinstalling a fresh xp..as this computer is custom made i dont have a xp disk at hand and i would like to wipe everything off except for my OS Windows XP?

if theres any way you guys can help, it would be much appreciated thanks

Hi Trixta,

Welcome to PCHF!

I'm unsure what you mean by 'reboot'? Also, do you know what graphics card you have, as this may be affecting your viewing of videos.

If you mean reinstall windows , then maybe not. Lets first have a look whats goin on on youre pc. And yes , you could do an repair install of windows but you would need an XP disc for it though.

Nothing really bad or anything but a couple of things to fix:

Do this only if you indeed dont use Panda security center anymore:
  1. Please download LSPFix from here.
  2. Disconnect from the internet and run the LSPFix.exe that you have just downloaded.
  3. Check the I know what I'm doing box.
  4. In the Keep box you should see one or more instances of pavlsp.dll.
  5. Select every instance of pavlsp.dll and move each one to the Remove box by clicking the >> button.
  6. When you are done click Finish>>.

And these can be fixed with hjt:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
O2 - BHO: AcroIEHlprObj Class - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: McBrwHelper Class - {227B8AA8-DAF2-4892-BD1D-73F568BCB24E} - blank (file missing)
O2 - BHO: McAfee PopupKiller - {3EC8255F-E043-4cae-8B3B-B191550C2A22} - blank (file missing)
